how would I use this yarn if it says DK?

I have knitted some advanced things before.. but the whole yarn weight has always been a bit confusing to me.
I will be using this yarn : http://www.bernat.com/product.php?LGC=softeebaby
it says it is "light " size 3 yarn. But the pattern calls for worsted or DK ?? do I just use the yarn like that? or do I use 2 strands at a time?? please help me !!!

It all has to do with guage or the number of stitches per inch .
Make a swatch 4in x4in. count the number of st in one inch, If it is more than your yarn states, try with smaller needles or if it is less, use larger needles. Since it is a blanket, it isn't that important for fit.
