Cotton Yarn Crochet

I'm crocheting a washcloth? I'm just using a slip stitch to do it and then making a border at the end. Has anyone else done it like this??? I've made 6 so far and they actually came out really nice...they could probably be used as hot pads too! Oh and I'm using 100% cotton worsted weight "Peaches & Cream" Brand yarn. Sure, I crochet all my pot holders with 100% cotton; acrylic blends are highly flammable. I crochet 2 squares, place one on top of the other, and attach them together by crocheting all around. I've also become ambitious and saw a piece of terry cloth to one side, place the other square on top in order to sandwich terry cloth between two squares and crochet all around; it's a thicker version for heavier pots.

Viscose is a natural polymer made from wood pulp. Viscose is a viscous organic liquid used to make rayon and cellophane. Cellulose from wood or cotton fibers is treated with sodium hydroxide, then mixed with carbon disulfide to form cellulose xanthate, which is dissolved in more sodium hydroxide. The resulting viscose is extruded into an acid bath either through a slit to make cellophane, or through a spinneret to make rayon. The acid converts the viscose back into cellulose.

Viscose is used for coating fabrics, to make solid objects like umbrella handles .
