 Help with crocheting a blanket? I want to make a blanket for my boyfriend for christmas. I have Caron simply soft yarn the colors are, black white and red. I was thinking of using two strands of yarn as one to make the blanket a little thicker, but I cant seem to find a pattern. Basically just a solid color blanket, he doesnt want it to have too many "holes" or spaces between the stitches. If anyone has any patterns they will be really appreciated!! With Caron Simply Soft you probably would want to use a size g hook. I definitely would not go higher then an h hook or your blanket will become too loose or 'holey'. To keep it tighter you would probably want to go with just a plain single crochet. It will take a while though unless you are a fast crocheter. You could just do stripes of black, then red then white. Say like maybe 5 rows in one color and then switch to the next. Also using two strands held together would be a good idea. Then you might for sure want to use the H hook. Also then you could switch to a double crochet which would help you get the blanket/afghan done much faster. |
