The Yarn Ball
and the big ball of yarn said string theory?

??????????????

First it was earth, wind, air and fire - Aristotle.

Then it was the 'invisible ether' that permeated everything (science's explanation for how everything was connected).

Now its all vibrating quantum strings.

How do you like being made out of string?

Try a New Hobby by Making Your Own Square Polar Scarves

Accessories are some things that can add style to even the simplest of clothes. Scarves are ideal during winter and can protect you from the chilling breeze of winters as well as searing winds of summer. Like other scarves polar fleece scarves come in a wide variety of sizes and are made in a club's particular colors and may contain pictures of renowned players, club crest, and various slogans. This scarf is easy to knit and you'll want to make one for yourself and another to give away as a gift.

Square scarves. If you are planning a trip to Alaska or Antarctica, you will need to stock up on a lot of square polar scarves. These are essential pieces you will need to bring so you can stay warm from the frigid weather conditions. Polar fleece is usually the material used to make them. But if you want to try making one on your own, follow these simple instructions:

The first thing you need to do is go to your local garment store and purchase a considerable amount of polar fleece. Make sure to buy extra balls of polar fleece so that just in case you run out, you will have more in hand. It is better to have extras rather than not having enough to finish your project.

To begin the actual process, cut out narrow, long strips from the polar fleece by using a ruler, a mat and a rotary cutter. The widths should just be about half an inch to an inch and they should all be equal in size. These should be sufficient to make polar scarves. Always remember to cut along the grain of the fabric.

Depending on how wide and long you want it to be, this will determine how much yardage you will need. The second step entails knotting the strips together tightly and rolling the polar fleece strips into a yarn ball. While rolling your polar fleece yarn ball, start winding the knots into a ball.

The third step will require you to decide on how many stitches you want to make. Usually, you won't need more than twenty to thirty stitches to make one even if they appear to look bulky. You have an option to pick a patterned stitch or to knit all the rows together. It would be best if you stitch simple patterns since polar fleece stitches aren't that defined.

Once you get to the fourth step, start knitting your polar scarves into the length you want. Always keep in mind that they should usually be five to six feet long. This is so that they can stay in place around the shoulders and neck of a person wearing it.

The last and final step entails binding off the stitches. You may add polar fleece fringe of the same color to give it a more unique effect. Don't forget to wash it well and wait for it to dry completely before wearing your newly made polar scarf.
